E.C.W. (Episcopal Church Women)
Begun in 1871, the Episcopal Church Women is a group of the women of the Church who carry our Christ’s work in the Church and in the world. It is best explained in their prayer, “Almighty God, we pray that You will bless our work in mission and ministry in the world. We give thanks for the gifts of joy and wonder to be found in Your works. Make us so thankful for the power of Your love, given through Your Son, Jesus, that we may pray, labor and give liberally to make known that love throughout the world. Bless us that our lives may shine forth the joy and wonder we share in Your Name. Amen.”
Their ministries involve the Miles of Pennies, Church Periodical Club, United Thank Offering, The Holly Berry Bazaar held every November, and The White Elephant Sale every Spring. They contribute to Charities and to the Church as decided upon and warranted.

Meets: 10:30AM
Second Thursday of the Month: October — May
The Daughters of the King is an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, or churches in communion with it, or churches who are in the Historic Episcopate. Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish. Their motto is:
For His Sake . . .
I am but one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do?

The Annunciation Choir is a typical parish choir, led by Thom Tenny, our Organist and Carole Cornman, our Choir Director. Carole is a professional singer and is training our members to breathe and accent their work properly. Section Leaders are Debra Polkinghorn, Alto and Ethan Dudley, Baritone/Bass who are also professional singers. The quality of their music has improved greatly since their arrival. All are invited to be part of the Choir. |
A group of the Episcopal Church Women are working on sewing Moses Baskets for newborn infants in migrant families around Arcadia. Besides the baskets, they are making little sweaters, hats, bootees, and other layette items. If you're not one who sews, you might be interested to know that it costs about $10 for the materials to produce one basket. Donations to buy materials are gratefully received. Please make checks payable to Episcopal Church Women. |

Meets monthly at different island Churches to try and meet the needs of many less fortunate on the island. The pastors of all of the Churches are members of this group as are 3 representatives from each congregation. We gather to build friendship and unity among the churches but also with our donations to assist when able persons living on the island who may be in crisis or who may be petitioning the group for a scholarship to aid in their education.

In addition to these internal organizations, our parish facilities are regularly used by the wider area community for 12-Step support and other special interest groups.
